Understanding the Pre-Classical Period of Yoga

The Pre Classical Period of Yoga - this is the early roots of yoga, thousands of years old from the Indus Valley civilization and stretches to teachings of self-discipline and meditation that guide a person to higher consciousness. The other ancient scriptures used to teach these practices were the Vedas and Upanishads, which helped people achieve mental and physical harmony. It is during these centuries that yoga developed from a spiritual exercise to the codified system it is recognized with today. All its ancient principles relating to peace, self-reminder, and harmony are sustained.
